The Osteoporosis Program at UHN has a dynamic teaching and education program that is involved in educating healthcare professionals on the optimal care and management of osteoporosis.
We organize an annual outreach education evening (in partnership with CESHA – the Centre of Excellence and Skeletal Health Assessment, and JDMI – the Joint Department of Medical Imaging) and invite renowned speakers to present on various topics around osteoporosis. Physicians and researchers from our program also participate and present in various educational programs, both nationally and internationally.
Our educational outreach day is for all hospital staff and patients located at the various CESHA sites during Osteoporosis Month every November. We help participants assess their risk of osteoporosis and fractures, and also help them determine how to optimally maintain their bone health through changes in lifestyle and diet.
Included here are some of our most recent presentations and published educational materials for healthcare professionals.
