November is Osteoporosis Month and every year, the Osteoporosis Program organizes an outreach event for hospital staff, patients, and their families. This event is held in collaboration with the University of Toronto Centre of Excellence in Skeletal Health Assessment, the UHN and Mount Sinai Hospital Pharmacies and Osteoporosis Canada.
This year, the Osteoporosis Outreach Day will be held Nov 12-14, 10am – 3pm.
The event is run on a different day at each hospital site (click on image for more details) and an information booth is set up with educational materials on osteoporosis prevention, treatment, and management. Staff from our Osteoporosis Clinic and from Osteoporosis Canada will be present to answer your questions and offer advice on osteoporosis and fracture risk. Visitors will also be encouraged to take a fracture risk assessment test developed by our program. We look forward to seeing you there!
