Happy Spring everyone! Here are some of the most recent news and resources that the University Health Network’s Osteoporosis Program would like to share with you:
- Our group presented various topics at the 2015 Canadian Hip Fracture Management Conference that focused on providing the best available care to hip fracture patients. There, we discovered resources that were shared by other groups and may provide helpful information to hip fracture patients and their caregivers or providers:
A tool kit for hip fracture patients by the Centre for Hip Health and Mobility
A patient information booklet on hip fracture recovery by the Canadian Orthopaedic Foundation
- A paper on a practical approach to caring for osteoporosis in elderly patients, written by Dr Davide Liberman and our group’s Dr Angela Cheung, was recently published in the Canadian Geriatrics Journal
- Our study titled “Detection of Incomplete Atypical Femoral Fractures: A Cost-Effectiveness Analysis” was presented at the International Osteoporosis Foundation’s 2015 World Congress on Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases:
